We place great emphasis on getting our weaning process right. Our cattle are extensively handled in the yard, race, crush and open paddock. We monitor their health, weights and stress levels. Any calves that are affected are removed and placed in a separate yard and treated accordingly.

Cattle are started on grain using feeders and are also fed a supplement mix to promote good gut and rumen health along with a constant supply of good quality hay. Over the last couple of years we have found that stress is minimised and the cattle continue to have great weight gains during the process rather than losing weight. Calves are handled with dogs, bikes and horses and taught to walk.
